Ali Kauss Adornment is a category of jewelry all of its own. Using traditional tools and techniques, learned while getting her BFA in Metalsmithing, Kauss creates one-of-a-kind pieces that are infused with an intuitive practice involving gentle guidance from the materials. Kauss views the act of adornment as a vehicle to communicate one’s personal power, beauty and wisdom. Each piece begins with sterling silver which is strong and flexible, an extremely feminine metal, and is further inspired by nature, science, astrology, astronomy and architecture. Pearls and gemstones are used for their color and metaphysical properties to further enhance the energetics of the jewelry. The mysterious forces of human existance and the connectivity we share with the unknown inspire texture and patina. AKA collections are made as a reminder and a celebration of an individual’s authenticity.
